Secondary glazing is an affordable and highly-effective solution for people who want the benefits of double glazing but are unable to replace their windows with uPVC or modern timber frames.
Installing another slim-line window in addition to your pre-existing windows allows the same results to be achieved.

If your home is crying out for a little bit of extra peace and warmth, adding secondary glazing will provide you with instant noise reduction. And because it is considered to be a reversible change by conservation bodies like English Heritage, secondary double glazing continues to be popular in listed and heritage buildings.
Installing secondary glazing could help to reduce your heating bills by around 10 per cent - a sizeable saving when you consider that energy prices are continually on the increase. Tests also show that secondary glazing could cut up to 80 per cent of street noise from traffic, pedestrians and other unwanted sounds.
Slim and discreet, secondary glazing windows will enhance any type of period property by allowing it to retain the original charm and character. That is why homeowners in conservation areas, where there may be strict controls on the changes that are allowed to the exterior of a property, often use this method instead of opting for new windows.
When you factor in that the original windows of an older property may have existed for hundreds of years, and could probably last for many more with some simple maintenance, why would you want the expense of replacing them?

I wanted to replace my conseratory glass roof with a new tiled one with two glass roof lights and thick insulation, so it would be cooler in summer and warmer in winter. I visited their showroom in Febuary and was impressed with their roofs on offer, spoke with manager who was so helpful and came and priced it the following day. Survey done the next week and agreed price . It was planned for a June start date. Alan and Kev came on 16th June to start the job, they are brothers and did a excellent job and nothing was any trouble for them when asked which is nice to see these days. The roof looks great and now the inside is plastered, just needs decorating. Well done to all concerned.
EYG are a very professional business who do excellent work. Their tradesmen are very good at what they do and always friendly and helpful. We have no complaints about the service that we had from start to finish of the build and would recommend EYG to anyone
Brandon and Owen turned up by 0900 made short work of removing the old front door and fitted the new composite door and were away by lunch time clearing up after themselves and leaving no mess. Brilliant.
