UPVC Stable door

A UPVC stable door offers great flexibility for home owners and is especially popular with families and pet owners.

With a top opening section, a stable door is perfect for letting in fresh air while keeping pets or children safely inside and maintaining the security of the home.

Our stable doors come with a tilt and turn opening, so that your rear door can be fully shut and locked – with the tilt opening option allowing fresh air to circulate.

The door also operates and looks like a full door when not in use as a stable door option – meaning it really is the most flexible door option available on the market.

FAQs

Are stable doors a good idea?

Stable doors originated on farms where livestock needed to be safely penned in while having access to fresh air.

The doors became a popular feature of domestic farmhouses from the 17th century, which allowed rural homes to air their properties while preventing chickens and other animals running inside.

Timber stable doors are still found on many rural farmhouses and cottages.

However, UPVC stable doors are now more widely seen in modern and contemporary houses as well.

Stable doors offer great flexibility for home owners, especially those with children or pets.

You can allow fresh air to circulate in your home via your stable door, while keeping the door fixed closed and locked if required.

This allows pets and children to be kept safely inside while enjoying the benefits of fresh air.

Are stable doors draughty?

Old timber stable doors are draughty and will lose heat, however, our modern UPVC stable doors are energy efficient, just like any other UPVC back door.

UPVC is highly-durable and weather-proof and will not rust or warp, and our doors also carry a ten-year warranty.

Are stable doors secure?

Yes, is the short answer.

Our doors come with a multi-point locking system as standard and have a steel-reinforced frame for security.

We use toughened Pilkington glass in the top half of the doors.

Choose from a range of 200 RAL colours, as well as a range of door styles.

We also offer a number of glass options, including clear or obscured or patterned glass.

EYG’s UPVC doors are Secured By Design accredited – the Home Office and Police-backed scheme which is designed to stamp out burglary and criminal damage with high-security home improvement products.

I wanted to replace my conseratory glass roof with a new tiled one with two glass roof lights and thick insulation, so it would be cooler in summer and warmer in winter. I visited their showroom in Febuary and was impressed with their roofs on offer, spoke with manager who was so helpful and came and priced it the following day. Survey done the next week and agreed price . It was planned for a June start date. Alan and Kev came on 16th June to start the job, they are brothers and did a excellent job and nothing was any trouble for them when asked which is nice to see these days. The roof looks great and now the inside is plastered, just needs decorating. Well done to all concerned.

EYG are a very professional business who do excellent work. Their tradesmen are very good at what they do and always friendly and helpful. We have no complaints about the service that we had from start to finish of the build and would recommend EYG to anyone

Brandon and Owen turned up by 0900 made short work of removing the old front door and fitted the new composite door and were away by lunch time clearing up after themselves and leaving no mess. Brilliant.
