Bifold doors now the most popular rear doors for UK home owners

Bifold doors are thought to be a relatively new home improvement product – but folding doors have been around for many centuries in a crude form.
However, the bifold doors we know today really started to take off around ten years ago, and the strong desire and trend for the versatile and aesthetically-pleasing doors shows no signs of slowing down.
In fact, a recent survey found that a massive 57% of home owners who replace rear doors are now opting for bifold doors, instead of more traditional choices of patio or French doors.
And of that number, more than half chose anthracite grey.
Sliding patio doors are the next more popular with 26% of home owner choosing them.
New advances mean that sliding doors can have slim profiles now that have truly modernised this door style.
The least popular option is currently French Doors, with only 17% of the population opting for those.
The soaring popularity of bifold doors is largely down to their functionality, combined with their undeniable ‘wow’ factor.
