Superb Hull tiled conservatory roof transformation

Dave Webb, Kingswood, Hull

Why did they choose EYG?

  • Existing conservatory was too cold to use in winter
  • Wanted to install replacement tiled conservatory roof
  • Keen to create space which could be used all year round

What did we do?

To create a room for all seasons, we removed the inefficient polycarbonate roof which had been making the conservatory extremely cold during the winter months.

Having been in place for 12 years, the existing conservatory was still in excellent condition and only required a new replacement tiled conservatory roof to be fitted in order to give it a new lease of life.

After discussing the brief in detail at an initial design consultation, the homeowner arranged for all electrical work to be carried out by an independent installer.

Once complete, we returned to plaster the interior ceiling and make good – creating a contemporary and much warmer living space.

“Other than being far too cold in winter, there was nothing else wrong with the conservatory despite it being 12 years old,” explained Dave of Ferry Meadows Park in Hull.

“But we wanted to fit a new tiled conservatory roof onto the existing structure so that we could use the space all year. Thankfully, that’s exactly what it has allowed us to do - it’s excellent.

How long did it take?

  • In total, this amazing transformation took just six working days to complete.
  • The new replacement roof was installed in five days, with our specialist fitters tying it into the property using modern lead flashing. We then spent a further day on site to plaster the interior ceiling ready for decoration.
  • Homeowner Dave added: "We chose EYG because they are one of very few companies who can fit this type of roof even though they didn’t install the original conservatory.
  • "We’re really pleased with the result - it’s given us a much warmer space that we now use every day of the year.”
