Jaw-dropping Lincolnshire conservatory

Peter & Christine Lacy, Barton, North East Lincolnshire

Why did they choose EYG?

  • Keen to update and merge two existing conservatories
  • Wanted to create one larger family room
  • Selected a Hybrid roof to use space all year round
  • Take advantage of buy now, pay nothing for 12 months
  • Previously used EYG and trusted reputation for quality

What did we do?

A detailed design consultation revealed the owner’s desire to keep two angular conservatories and transform them into one versatile living space.

With one conservatory coming off the kitchen and another from the dining room - to leave a void of outside space in between, the decision was taken to remove the sides and connect both structures using bi-fold doors.

Having removed both existing roofs and some of the glazed side panels, new footings had to be excavated and laid to enable a beautiful set of bi-folds to bridge the gap across the front.

With the basic structure in place, attention turned to designing and installing the bespoke Hybrid roof containing six glass panels to let light flood in.

Once completed, the interior ceiling was given a plastered finish, before the decorators and flooring fitters could complete the transformation.

How long did it take?

  • From start to finish, the on-site work took approximately ten weeks – including a week for the new base and brick-built walls to be erected.
  • Using our flexible funding, the homeowners chose to buy now and pay nothing for 12 months - from the date of completion.
  • “We knew it would be a complex project to design and complete, but the finished result is truly spectacular,” said delighted Peter, of Sharpe Close in Barton.
  • “The space is now much larger and much more practical in terms of usage, with the bi-fold doors providing lovely views of the garden."
