A Beverley couple said they feel like they’ve got a "whole new room” after transforming their “freezing” conservatory with a new tiled conservatory replacement roof.
Diana and Paul Barratt said the room is now the heart of the home instead of an ignored and unused space.
Why did they choose our Hybrid roof?
The couple said they hardly ever used the conservatory, because the roof was insufficient to keep the room temperature comfortable and it was either freezing or too hot.
Diana said: “We had been thinking about changing it for a while, and we had various leaflets through the door advertising solid roofs. We used EYG as they fitted windows and doors for us in the past.
“When we saw the option for a Hybrid roof, I wanted it straight away, I really liked the look of it.”
What did we do?
The fitters were able to use the existing base and windows, and just replaced the roof with the hybrid – which is a solid roof with strategically-placed glass panels which allow the natural light into the room.
The Hybrid is a solid vaulted roof, constructed from insulated aluminium and glass panels. This has the effect of keeping the room cool in summer and warm in winter - avoiding unpleasant temperature fluctuations.
What did they think of the work?
The couple said they were happy with the quality of workmanship and overall experience dealing with EYG.
“They did a very good job and we were happy with the standard of the work from the fitters, we’ve always been pleased with EYG, having used them before. We are really happy with our room,” added Diana.
Diana added: “We use it as a sitting room and dining room, and we hardly ever use our living room anymore, we just live in here.
“We don’t have a television in here as I didn’t want one, we sit in here in an evening, just enjoying the peace. We eat our meal at the table and then move onto the chairs and we are literally in here all of the time, it’s like gaining a whole new room.
“It’s a lot cooler on warm days now, and it’s not cold on cooler days either, the roof has made such a difference,” said Diana.
