Conservatory in Cleethorpes, North East Lincolnshire

David and Sarah Patterson, Cleethorpes, North East Lincolnshire

Why did they choose EYG?

  • Needed to take down an old and cold conservatory
  • Keen to create a main living space at rear of property
  • Wanted area to feel more open and warmer
  • Prevent temperature fluctuations with a Hybrid roof
  • Get rid of French doors separating conservatory and kitchen
  • Front and back doors needed updating

What did we do?

Having established that the existing conservatory was well past its best at an initial design consultation, removing it and recycling it was the first step in this dramatic home transformation.

Opting to use the concrete base that was already in place meant the P-shaped conservatory project could start almost immediately, with the dwarf walls erected in the first few days. But not before we had carefully covered the existing laminate floor so that it could be used again.

Letting more natural light into the rear of the property and creating a family room for everyone to enjoy was the top priority, made possible by removing the French doors separating the conservatory from the kitchen to dramatically open up the living space.

With the conservatory frame and Hybrid roof erected, the interior was plastered and painted to achieve a fresh and modern look.

Swapping the old wooden framed doors for a new grey composite front door and a white back door is all that was required to beef up security and complete the mini makeover.

How long did it take?

  • The whole project took around three weeks to complete – breathing new life and energy into the property.
