EYG sends message to those affected by Safestyle jobs uncertainty
31st October 2023
As one of the UK’s biggest home improvements firms ceases trading, the industry will be awash with sales staff, surveyors, and manufacturing, installation and processing staff who are looking for alternative employment.
At EYG Domestic and EYG Commercial, we just want to say our hearts go out to everyone affected by the current uncertainty surrounding the 680 jobs at Safestyle UK.
The Bradford-based firm is holding crunch talks this week, but with the prospect of Christmas approaching, workers are justifiably nervous about their future prospects.

At EYG, we employ staff across our domestic, commercial and trade divisions in a variety of sales, admin, processing, installation and manufacturing jobs. The majority of these are at our Hull head office where our manufacturing facilities are also based, but we also have large depots in Newark and Scarborough, as well as sales branches in Spalding, Lincoln, Doncaster and York.
We are always looking for experienced and enthusiastic staff in numerous roles and would be happy to hear from any staff affected by the current uncertain climate at Safestyle UK.
Home improvement installers and builders get in touch
EYG's Operations Manager Martin Littlefield said he is welcoming CVs from builders who are experienced in conservatory bases, as well as experienced UPVC and aluminium fitters.
He said: “Please get in touch with your CVs if you are out of work and looking for jobs in installation and sales in particular.
“We appreciate these are really upsetting times for families who have been affected and we will be happy to hear from anyone who has been affected.
“All details will be kept on file and even if we don’t have a suitable position immediately, we will contact applicants as and when anything comes up.”
Sales staff encouraged make contact
Our Sales and Marketing Director John Waugh is also welcoming contact from sales and marketing who are looking for vacancies across the Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire regions.
We have vacancies for sales reps, telesales and telecan staff routinely available.
John said: “We’d be very happy to hear from experienced sales staff who have a solid understanding of the industry and products. We know these are difficult times for people affected by this crisis and we offer competitive rates of pay and good working conditions.
“It is sad news for the industry when a company of that size ceases trading as it has a huge knock-on effect for so many staff and their families, and we will do anything we can to help.”
