Shootbolt locking mechanisms offer the ultimate in security for your windows. The 8 Series Shootbolt espagnolette locking system is manufactured from either ferretic stainless steel or mild steel and provides exceptional levels of security through an extremely effective combination of upto 6 separate locking points along the full length of the window sash.
These locking points are achieved through an extremely effective combination of mushroom headed cams and steel shootbolts.
The shootbolts and mushroom cams are operated via a smooth reverse action gearbox which throws the locking points in opposing directions, this includes two mushroom cams on the gearbox itself which provide additional sealing and security in the centre of the window. These mushroom cams are adjustable for compression by +/- 1 mm.
Steel shootbolts protect the window at the corners where the window is most vulnerable to attack. These shootbolts throw in opposing directions and secure into receivers at the top and bottom of the frame.
Once all of the above locking points are engaged it is practically impossible to lever open the window.
