EYG ANNOUNCES 'BACK OFFICE' INVESTMENT PROGRAMME
Hull-based windows and conservatory specialist, the EYG Group, has announced another six-figure investment programme to further upgrade its ‘back office’ IT and administration systems.
EYG, one of the most successful independent glazing suppliers in the country, is spending in excess of £120,000 on a three-way improvement package that will also take the company further towards a paper-less office.
In the past 18 months, the company has invested around £1m on new equipment and technology at Hull and new showrooms to grow its business in the Lincolnshire and East Midlands region.
Around £80,000 has been spent upgrading the internal IT system, including the latest server platforms. In addition to providing greater efficiency, the improved IT infrastructure will also offer EYG a complete disaster recovery package in the event of a computer meltdown.
A further £20,000 will improve the contract management systems, managing contracts through from the point of sale to completion, and another £20,000 will enhance the aluminium processing and estimating procedures providing a link between the company’s design and manufacturing software programmes.
Frank Saunders, EYG’s Marketing Director, said: “It’s good that we are able to announce further investment at our Hull headquarters at a time when so many companies have put any spending plans on hold because of the recession.
“Our sales continue to hold up very well and this further improvement to our in-house systems will help us to better manage our business behind the scenes.”
EYG has a turnover in excess of £20m and employs more than 300 people, mostly at its Wiltshire Road, Hull, headquarters. In 2007, the company was voted Customer Service Company of the Year in the Hull Daily Mail Business Awards.
